Members and guests around the country are welcome to participate and join us in a fun holiday DIY, as we all prep for the holidays. Watch, or make-a-long, and connect with others around the country!

This season many of us are looking for ways to celebrate with homemade gifts that are beautiful, useful, and affordable. Look no further than your pantry! We’ll be making an apple cider sugar mix and savory salt blends that make wonderful gifts.

What you’ll need:

  • Join us in our Zoom meeting and receive a digital copy of the recipes

  • If you’d like to make-a-long, here’s what you’ll need to have on the day of the Zoom:

  • A clean prep surface

  • Several mixing bowls and mixing spoons

  • 1 zester (for lemons) or fine grater

  • Clean and sanitized jars or food safe containers

  • Jelly roll pan or baking sheet (to dry lemon zest)

  • Optional: reusable baking sheet or parchment for lemon zest drying

  • Optional: mortar and pestle or spice grinder

  • Use of oven

All ingredients needed:

We’ll be discussing how to make your own custom blends also, so please have a minimum of the quantities shown:

  • 1 cup sugar (any natural dry sugar ok; maple or coconut sugar would work great)

  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon or apple pie spice

  • 1 teaspoon ground Nutmeg

  • 1 teaspoon ground Cloves

  • 2 cups kosher Salt preferred, sea salt ok

  • 1 whole lemon

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1 teaspoon dried chopped rosemary

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon curry powder

  • Feel free to have any other spices that you may want to blend with (some options: cinnamon sticks, bay leaves, star anise, basil, sage, etc.)
