Food Alliance Certified

A third-party verified seal No hormones, non-therapeutic antibiotics or genetically modified crops or livestock are used.

Purpose

Food Alliance certification is a voluntary means for agricultural producers and food companies to address growing customer demand for traceability, transparency, and social and environmental responsibility... it is a "credible and effective way for producers and food companies to demonstrate their commitment to sustainable management practices".

Applied Standards

Certified producers must have safe and fair working conditions that put forward the health and humane treatment of farm animals. They must reduce their use of pesticides (or other hazardous materials). Their farms must protect and enhance biodiversity and wildlife habitat. This includes a conservation of soil, water, and energy, a reduction and recycling of waste, transparent and traceable supply chains, and food product integrity (no genetically engineered or artificial ingredients). Producers must be committed to improving and managing practices.
