Description

Pilates is a type of exercise. It is used to improve flexibility, balance, and muscle strength. Pilates is practiced in group or private sessions. It may involve using a mat or specific equipment. Mat exercises focus on strengthening the muscles of the trunk and hips and increasing the flexibility of the spine and hips. Pilates equipment helps create resistance to build strength.

Pilates is used for athletic performance, exercise, weight loss and obesity, low back pain, and to prevent falls in older people.
