Holistic Health Laboratory Tests
There is a growing demand for specialized laboratory testing to support the delivery of functional medicine, integrative medicine and holistic health care. According to the National Institutes of Health, approximately 37% of American adults—about 122 million people—used at least one complementary or integrative health approach in 2022.
In response, Labcorp, the laboratory services company, announced its Whole Health Solutions, a new service of specialized testing panels and a test menu of more than 1,000 biomarkers. These biomarkers enable healthcare providers to assess various aspects of a patient's health and cover key areas such as heart health, hormonal balance, micronutrient levels, and overall wellness. The program’s specialized test panels are designed to help providers identify underlying imbalances and support preventive care strategies, including:
- Advanced cardiometabolic biomarker panel, which evaluates 21 biomarkers related to cardiometabolic risk.
- Comprehensive nutrient panel, which assesses 11 biomarkers to identify micronutrient deficiencies.
- Longevity and vitality panel, which analyzes 71 biomarkers associated with aging, inflammation, and organ function.
- Men's and women's comprehensive hormone panels, which measure key hormones affecting reproductive and endocrine health.
- Men's and women's whole body wellness panels, which provide a broad overview of health, including more than 75 biomarkers related to various bodily systems.
In addition to the test offerings, Labcorp Whole Health Solutions offers healthcare providers additional resources to support patient care including consultation services for expert guidance, digital tools to streamline test ordering and result interpretation, and analytics to help identify high-risk patient populations and improve healthcare delivery.
