A New Online Learning Course for Nutrition Professionals

Article Abstracts
Mar 24, 2026

The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) is offering a new online learning course for nutrition professionals. The course, “Therapeutic Food Plans: A Component of Personalized Nutrition,” was developed in collaboration with the American Nutrition Association to meet the needs of the growing population of professionals in this field.

Nutrition is critical to overall health and well-being, and it plays a key role in functional medicine’s personalized healthcare approach. This course is built on IFM’s three-step framework for personalizing therapeutic food plans; upon completion of the course, nutrition professionals will be able to determine the best intervention for clients with specific health concerns and tailor nutrition plans for them. The course covers the specifics for eight different therapeutic food plans designed to address a wide variety of complex medical diagnoses and symptoms.

The course has been designed specifically to aid nutrition professionals in the scope of their practice, but it may also be helpful to physicians and other healthcare practitioners who give nutrition advice to patients. The course is eligible for CME, CEU, and CE credit.
